The International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) is the leading, global membership association working to bring inclusive, quality education to all. Through its global membership, ICDE impacts millions of students, shares knowledge and best practices, facilitates intercultural collaboration, and advocates for progress and recognition of Open, Flexible and Distance Learning (OFDL) worldwide. As a long-standing consultative partner to UNESCO, ICDE and its members work globally and regionally to achieve UN Sustainable Development Goal 4: Equitable quality education for all.
The ICDE World Conference is widely recognised as the leading international event for Open, Flexible and Distance Learning (OFDL). Since 1938, the World Conference has been hosted by ICDE members around the world, attracting around 1,000 participants from all world regions.
The World Conference offers a forum for the presentation of cutting-edge developments in the field, as well as a platform to directly impact and contribute to future international, regional and national educational policy discussions. Conference participants represent the research community, teaching staff, students, management of educational institutions, policy makers, the public sector, training companies, relevant professional and international associations, and suppliers from the private sector.
