We are pleased to announce a pre-conference MOOC centred on the transition of OFDL, as a complement to the ICDE 30th World Conference in Wellington, New Zealand. The MOOC is assembled by Morten Flate Paulsen; Som Naidu; Mark Nichols; and Callum Bond from Open Polytechnic.
It will include facilitators from all around the world.
The MOOC is centred on the question: What can we learn from the history and practice of open, flexible and distance learning (OFDL)?
There are five topics:
There will be a final assessment, and a workshop at the ICDE World Conference for participants to attend. The assessment will challenge you to consider, how will these ideas continue to shape and inform my outlook and practice?
The MOOC is open to the global community seeking to advance inclusive, scalable, and sustainable education. You do not need to be registered for the conference to participate.
The MOOC is hosted on Open Polytechnic’s iQualify system (Learning with iQualify | iQualify Knowledgebase). Each topic contains online reference materials (OERs), drawing from leading names in OFDL. Online discussion opportunities and some live tutorials will be set up.
The reference materials will be those all OFDL advocates should be aware of.
A badge will be awarded on completion of the course, and a Certificate of Completion for those completing the assessment.
